Things to do in St George this President’s Day Weekend 2018

Mount Rushmore

Coming to St George to enjoy President’s Day Weekend this year? You are likely coming with your family and need some things to keep your kids entertained, and a couple of places to go to get out of the hotel room. Try these suggestions as you plan your trip!

1. St George Area Parade of Homes 2018

The Parade of Homes will run from February 16-25, 2018 and features 28 homes that have been crafted with the finest materials and have stunning views. Tickets can be purchased online and the cost is $15 per person.

2. Hit the Slopes

Brian Head is just 45 mins north of St George and provides great fun for the whole family! You can ski, snowboard, tube or just hang out at the lodge and eat great food and check out the town of Brian Head! Check out their LIVE CAM feeds.

3. Go for a Hike!

There is so much that St George has to offer for you and your family in the hiking arena! You can try Snow Canyon, but it will likely be fairly crowded. If you want to avoid congestion, try Anasazi Petroglyphs, Owen’s Loop or Sandstone Quarry.

4. Get Some Food

We love food and think you should try some of our local favorites! You will not be disappointed by Magleby’s, Twisted Noodle or The Fishrock Grille.

5. Check out Local History

St George is a relatively young city, but has a rich history that is interwoven into the local culture and society. While you’re here, check out the Jacob Hamblin Home, St George LDS Temple or the Little Black Mountain Petroglyph Site (this is not too far from the famous Glitter Mountain).

6. Have a Great Time!

You are coming to one of the greatest places on earth, so you have no excuse for not having a great time! Contact us if you need help finding the perfect thing to do!

HikeStGeorge is a project that began as a seedling for Tim LeBaron in the early part of 2008, but really didn’t begin to blossom until the latter part of 2011. The original idea behind the site was to bring to light all of the harder to find, or “less known” hidden gems of the area. It was more of a pet project than anything. As excitement about the site began to spread, there was more of a push to develop information about all hikes in the Southern Utah Region.
